It is said as you get older you get wiser. While this can be true for some, it is untrue for others. It is a journey one takes. A choice. Learning things and taking the time to try and make a difference, or just point it out and hope another sees. A wise man is one that can realize he has flaws and can work on them. One that knows that he is not perfect and can accept that. He takes the time to learn about things around him and takes part in life. He doesn't hide away and do nothing, doesn't turn a blind eye.

Then again one person's concept of what is wise is another person's concept of idiocy. Some take the safe route and "play it smart" by not getting involved. Self preservation. Maybe that is the wise choice, the safe choice. It's all in how you view things in the end.

Most men can spout off a list of things they hate. It's an easy task. Ask any man what they hate.

- price of gas
- their team losing
- bills
- the treatment of others.


That was my list right off the top of my head. The hard list for people to come up with sometimes is a list of what they love. I never understood how they can have so much troubles with this. Then again my list is a simple one.

- Max
- family
- helping others
- taking down corrupt people

When you think about it it isn't hard. Most people however they have to think about what they love. Is it money or some other material thing. Most lists would consist of that. Maybe I'm just odd because mine doesn't. I've seen too much corruption come from those material things however, maybe that's how I am different. Max loves me this way so must be doing something right.

I may not be a fighter to the caliber of Max and the rest of the transgenics but I can hold my own. I don't think twice when it comes to helping them out as much as I'm sure Max would love me to be more careful with myself. She worries some because I am an ordinary and I have a nasty habit of jumping right into the fray head first. What can I say? They are her family, and me and her are getting closer so I try to protect them. Even though yes I know they'd last longer then I would. I'm sure Max is glad I'm learning that.


My weapon of choice however? My computer and satellite links. Getting the word out there for transgenic rights. Using my voice to warn those out there that someone is coming and they can move. Plenty of people have tried killing me because of what I do. Eyes Only? He'll never go down easy, he'll go down fighting like his own special kind of warrior. As long as there is corruption and people out there that would harm Max and others like her, Eyes Only lives on.

Maybe someday I'll be able to pack all that in and lead a normal life with Max, but for now I can still say I'm a very happy man.

We live in a world that many of as humans ignore the things going on around us. People will see someone hungry and starving on the street and keep on walking, pretending they don't see them. It's easy for people to just ignore the bad in the world, yet put up the facade that they care. To say they want to make a difference yet do nothing to do so.

Case in point. I knew this person, she spoke out against many things. People saw her as an activist and sent her money to help with her cause. Instead of giving it to the homeless children she kept it to herself. The children would see her coming and there would be a glimmer of hope in their eyes. This was someone that cared about them only to have her push them aside. Tell them to get their filth away from her and leave them wondering what happened.

People they want to see news, want to know what's going on. They want to seem concerned with the world. Though it's easier to see it on the tv screen. When faced with it most turn and run. It's too much of a reality check for them and they can't handle it. There is a select few who can. They will do anything in their power to make things better. The ones that won't back down no matter what threatens them. Even if it means risking their lives they stand up for what they believe.
